祝い菊（菊全般）は、古来より「不老長寿」「無病息災」「邪気払い」「高貴」「心身の安定・繁栄」の象徴とされる大変縁起の良い吉祥文様・花です。花弁が幾重にも重なる姿が福を招くとされ、ピンポンマム（丸い菊）の洋風アレンジや、可愛らしいためギフトとしても人気です。
赤い菊の花言葉から、愛が強すぎる故に「一日が千年ものように長く感じ（あなたと再会する時まで）待ち遠しいこと。」を意味する一日千秋と名付けました。
